Mark your calendars and think spring! Reliably warm weather is only weeks away, which means it’s almost time for the 2026 Lake Granbury Master Gardener (LGMG) plant sale. This event lures plant lovers and savvy shoppers from miles around. And they line up early to ensure they get the most desired plants! Shoppers know that popular plants sell quickly. In fact, the sale ends early if all the plants are sold.
Rain or shine, this year’s plant sale takes place Saturday, April 18, from 8 a.m. until 12 p.m. (or when all plants are sold) at the group’s Demonstration Garden located at the rear of the parking lot behind Hood County Annex 1, 1410 W. Pearl St.
The 2026 sale will include hundreds of plants that thrive in North Central Texas including natives and well-adapted species, many of which are cultivated in the group’s greenhouse. Others will be carefully selected from the best growers in north central Texas. Plants available for purchase will include hardy perennials, such as lantana and salvia, along with many other heat and drought tolerant species, pollinator and wildlife-friendly plants, shade plants, herbs and bulbous species such as iris and canna.
Although serious buyers should arrive early for the sale, no purchase is necessary to browse, visit the Demonstration Garden or consult with Master Gardeners who will be on site and pleased to answer gardening questions. Monies raised will fund scholarships and community education programs.
