Herb Garden Bed

Herb Garden Bed

The Herb Garden bed is planted with a combination of medicinal or ornamental herbs, and culinary herbs. Many herbs are annuals such as Basil, Cilantro and Dill; some are perennials such as Lemon Balm, Rosemary, Thyme, and Comfrey. Every year we try to grow a variety of Basil plants, along with various other herbs that do well in North Texas. Enjoy seeing the Bee Balm blooms in the Spring and the Mexican Mint Marigolds bloom in the Fall.

Favorite Plant in this bed:

Rosemary - Salvia rosmarinus

Leaves are edible, and are commonly used as a flavoring in a wide range of dishes. Rosemary’s strong scent also makes it a great natural air freshener.

For more reccommendations on growing herbs, see the Texas A&M AgriLife herb growing guides below.
