HISTORY OF LAKE GRANBURY MASTER GARDENERS<\/span><\/h3>\n

(formerly called Hood County Master Gardeners)<\/i><\/b><\/i><\/b><\/span><\/p>\n

Legal Documents Filed with the State<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n

March 17, 1995 \u2013 Articles of Incorporation file in the Office of the Secretary of State of Texas for Hood County Master Gardeners, with Certificate of Incorporation Charter Number <\/b>01349121.<\/span>
Article 2 states that Hood County Master Gardeners is a nonprofit corporation.<\/span><\/p>\n

Article 4 states the purposes are to \u201cperform organized horticultural activity to advance and further the general public knowledge, perception, and education as it relates to horticultural activities in Hood County, Texas. The further purpose is to advance to general beauty of public lands and properties in concert with governmental entities. A further purpose is to participate with and assist governmental organized public efforts to advance horticulture and land use management.\u201d (typos corrected)<\/span><\/p>\n

The original directors were Eugene Ratzloff, Bob McQueen, Pat LaDuke and Helen Price.<\/span><\/p>\n

December 31, 2006 \u2013 Amendment of Articles of Incorporation of Hood County Master Gardeners Charter Number 01349121<\/b> filed in the Office of the Secretary of State of Texas<\/span><\/p>\n

This document, executed on Nov. 16, 2005, changed the name of the corporation from HOOD COUNTY MASTER GARDENERS to LAKE GRANBURY MASTER GARDENERS.<\/span><\/p>\n

Sept. 21, 2005 meeting minutes report under New Business that \u201cWe must change our official name to meet the new financial best practices.\u201d The executive committee was directed to bring a recommendation of new name to the group for a vote.<\/span><\/p>\n

Oct. 19 meeting minutes report in Old Business that \u201cA motion was made and seconded to officially change our name to Lake Granbury Master Gardeners. The name change was approved by a unanimous vote of Executive Board and the membership.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

Demonstration Garden<\/b> first created in 1998 behind the Hood County Annexes<\/span><\/p>\n

The master gardeners were notified in 2005 that the garden had to be moved so the county could pave the area for a parking lot behind the Annex buildings. The Second Demonstration Garden was created in 2006-\u201907:<\/span><\/p>\n
