Texas English Country Garden Bed<\/span><\/h3>\n
English Country Gardens are famous for blending formal and informal; that was the basis for the design of the Texas English Country Garden.\u00a0 Laid out like a wagon wheel and edged with rock (formal), this garden is divided into six different pie-shaped sections, each of which is a blend of friendly (informal) plants that are well suited to the extremes faced in Texas gardens.\u00a0 As with most English gardens, this garden includes an ornamental feature in the form of a massive pot at the center of the garden.\u00a0 In addition to providing a bit of height to the garden, the plants in this pot can be changed out every spring to add a little drama to the overall arrangement. \u00a0A huge live oak tree provides a measure of shade for the Texas English Garden so plant species that grow well in part shade conditions do best here, including shrubs, grasses and perennials.<\/span><\/div>\n

A stunning three seasons of the year and is well adapted to heat and dry shade once it is established.\u00a0 Noted primarily for its dark purple triangular leaves, this beautiful plant sends up tiny, but stunning, pink five-petaled flowers in the spring.\u00a0 Oxalis attracts butterflies and is deer resistant.<\/span><\/p>\n
