Lake Granbury Master Gardeners

Is a nonprofit educational and charitable association that aids the community through various means. We aim to educate and encourage the public on all things horticulture: gardening, landscaping and lawn care.

AgriLife Extension

LGMG collaborates with AgriLife Extension Services to provide youth and community education.

Demonstration & Research Garden

The Demo Garden is a free resource for the community where one can view native and adapted plants that thrive in our region or simply enjoy a peaceful place to sit and observe plants and wildlife.

Youth

LGMG have a passion to teach young audiences and work with   Jr. Master Gardeners, 4-H clubs and schools.

Monthly Meetings

A one-hour free monthly meeting focused on various horticultural topics.

Scholarship Program

The LGMG awards two $2,000 scholarships to students who are attending or will attend an accredited college or university and major in horticulture or another agriculture-related field.

The Garden Patch Column

Garden Patch, a column written by Master Gardener Phyllis Webster and published twice monthly by the Hood County News, educates the community on gardening topics.

Plant Sale

Our annual Spring plant sale focuses on native and well-adapted plants suitable for the Hood County area.

Romancing the Monarch festival

We welcome the migrating monarch butterflies with a free annual festival on the first Saturday in October. Participants learn about the life cycle of the monarch and release live butterflies into the wild.
